WASTE AWAY

Things were said
Actions convinced
How to cover your mouth
After words were announced
To capture them back
Becomes the past
To reveal myself
It becomes someone other than me
She’s gone
This is how she remembers me
To speak again will it redeem
Or make things worse
I hold my true feelings
Listening becomes impossible
Inside me it’s kept
How I really feel for her
For her to know
Never portrays her
My feelings are left in me
While I lay to force myself to sleep
Waste away
It eats at me

IF YOU SEE HER

If you see her
Will you tell her I speak of her
If she is lonely
Will you tell her I am here
I wrote her a letter
Only to be read by the writer
My picture of her
Lays next to the empty frame
If you see her
Will you tell her my heart is laying here
My words are unconscious for her
I know what I want to say
If you see her
Will you say my name
Her eyes always lit up
When my name was spoke
Her arms around me
Embraced love
If you see her
Will you hold her a while for me
She left
When I still had love to give
We laughed together
Because we thought the same things were funny
If you see her
Will you tell her my joke for me
Her kisses served so sweet
If you see her
Will you kiss her once for me
If you see her
Will you show her where I am

A GIRL I SAW

I screech to a stop
To convict her
She throws her eyes
They sink right through me
A smile reflects
With a touch that’s felt through
She speaks with words of intent
I grab them with my hand
The words surface through the crevice of my hand
What little I caught
I realize with a smile
With my eyes on fire
I take a drink to calm
She sees the smoke
The fire was tamed
A toss of her hair behind her ear
A damp of sweat appears
I look with settle intentions
Slowing myself to a standstill
Her coat comes off
With the emotions rising
I cover my mouth in awe
Grasping my glass an unattended pulse
I treat myself to a sip
The cubes melt
Her lips retreat her straw
I gaze the possibilities
She looks up to see me
Lending myself into her
She sits back with a welcome
I dare myself to try
She invites herself to me
